MEOW was recorded in two days at Joe’s Garage in Audubon, PA.
Joe “The Butcher” Nicolo captured the feel and sound that we were hoping to share with our audience and fans.
Shelia and I drove from North Carolina with her percussion, a bass, and some guitars.
Along the way, we wound up staying at The Watergate Hotel on a whim. Most of the video footage for Jackson, the first song on the EP was shot while Nowcat was in the house at The Watergate.
The swanky digs and the accommodating staff gave us the rock star treatment. Zacharia Powers made a cameo and gave us insightful information on the history of The Watergate.
His stories were worth the visit.
The Carolina coast has some wonderful talent. In the last year numerous live music venues and
event spaces have sprung up. American Fish Co.,
The Fish House at Blue Water Point, The Sound House, Cafe Ahora, The Lazy Turtle, Southport Tap & Cellar, The Tiki Tavern, Moore Street
Market, Grape & Ale, Mad Mole Brewing, Doc Meridian, and Johnny Lukes are just some of the places that have given nowcat a chance to share our music. We have enjoyed performing with so many bands and songwriters including LunaSea, The Back Porch Rockers, Christine Martinez Band, The Lockwood River Band, Dennis Walton Band,Joe’s Motel, Tatum/Hayden, Jamie Hoover, Tina Smith, Jeremy Truit, Dave’s Not Home, L-Shaped Lot, Mackenzi Morris, Kelly and Chuck Overman, Theresa and Harry Crusenberry, Laura McLean, Catesby Jones, Jamie Hoover, Crosswinds, Chris “4SJ” Ochtyun,“Juan” Humpertico Fernando for percussion discussion on Suppers On Sunday.
